Walking through a garden is one of the simple summertime pleasures. And what could be better than dining in nature at dusk? Gardens and Restaurants seem to fit together in the Hudson Valley – they both share nature’s bounty.

Here are a few of our favorite public gardens in the Hudson Valley

Gardens in the Hudson valley include this the berkshire botanical gardenBerkshire Botanical Garden is once again hosting ” Cocktails in Great Gardens”. Roam some of the best gardens with their gracious, experienced gardeners and enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvers in the soft summer light. Tickets are limited and reservations are required.

Clermont State Historic Site houses five historic gardens restored to their early 20th century plantings and five marked trails for the outdoor enthusiast – it’s a birders paradise!

Olana is one of the finest surviving examples of the Picturesque style of landscape gardening in the US
Definitely worth the walk from Mount Merino Manor.

Crimson Sparrow, a restaurant on Hudson’s Warren Street, has a beautifully designed courtyard for their exciting cuisine under the stars.

Ca’Mea, another restaurant on Hudson’s Warren Street, offers their warm and welcoming back garden speckled with potted plants, herbs and sun umbrellas to dine Al Fresco at the end of a long day.

Red Dot restaurant, also on Warren Street, has a backyard garden with an East Village vibe – they’ve got yummy dishes and cool drinks – it’s definitely a local’s favorite.
