Longer days bring more daylight and warmer temps bring mud – in the Hudson Valley. But a little mud can be very healing. Try the Espresso Mud Body Scrub at Bodhi Holistic Spa & Yoga, just 5 minutes from the Manor. I personally love the pampering of Bodhi’s Abundance which includes a Moisture Drench Facial, a Wild Lime Scalp treatment, Sacred Foot treatment and Infrared Sauna & Steam.
But it’s the simple pleasures this time of year that can rejuvinate the soul, like a wonderfully warm cup of flowering tea at Verdigris Tea & Chocolate Bar. My favorite is Rising Sun, a blend of green tea, jasmine and chrysanthemum. Across the street, Cafe Le Perche offers a Pain au Chocolat that is a piece of heaven, especially if you’re sitting by their elegant yet cozy fireplace.
Walking down Hudson’s Warren Street can be very inspiring. Stop by the Carrie Haddad Gallery, which is currently featuring a selection of black painting, drawing, encaustics and sculpture “…the artists showing have all embraced the dark side in the hopes of encouraging their audience to look beyond the typical and seek the mysterious.” It’s on view until April 13. And while you’re out and about, the Valley Variety features the recent work of Hudson-based artist, Jen Harris among other things such as beautiful and useful products for cooking, gardening, personal grooming, home design and travel just to name a few. Jen’s exhibit draws on Tarot iconography to explore conceptions of time, love, sex and mortality.
Finally, spend some quality time at Mount Merino Manor with a long healing soak in a whirlpool tub for two with relaxing Moonbeams Bath Salts or an invigorating spa shower at the end of a well-spent day!
Springtime in Hudson is a time of renewal before the summer fun begins!
