Make your next Valentine’s Day one you’ll never forget by spending it in the Hudson Valley. Combine luxury accommodations with delicious cuisine and romantic activities, and there’s simply no question why Valentine’s Day in the Hudson Valley is a great date.
Let’s start by talking a little more about those accommodations. We invite you to spend your special holiday with your loved one here at Mount Merino Manor. Home to seven spacious guest rooms and suites, you’ll find beautiful views, candlelit fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and spa-jetted showers at our bed and breakfast. Mount Merino Manor sits on a lush hilltop in a private, country setting. Our stately Victorian is surrounded by 100-acres of shaded woodlands, and has magnificent views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains.
When you stay with us at Mount Merino Manor, you’ll enjoy a full gourmet country breakfast in a light-filled dining room. There is always a hot entree, homemade muffins and breads and seasonal, fresh fruit with locally grown produce, farm fresh eggs and bacon from a local butcher. When we said delicious cuisine, we weren’t kidding! But there are some other excellent choices here in the Hudson Valley.
A few restaurants we recommend in Hudson include Ca’ Mea, The Crimson Sparrow, DA | BA and Swoon Kitchenbar. Ca’ Mea is Hudson’s No. 1 Italian restaurant, and is a great choice if you’re looking for a romantic atmosphere. The Crimson Sparrow is also easily accessible from Mount Merino Manor, offering brunch, dinner, and a wide variety of cocktails, wine and sake. Next comes DA | BA, another great option in Hudson. Request to be seated in the front dining area, as it’s especially romantic! And last but not least is Swoon Kitchenbar, where the menus change daily. The restaurant always provides fresh choices that are beautifully presented!
But what about romantic activities? Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten them. Just minutes away from Mount Merino Manor is Olana State Historic Site, which can be ultra-romantic. The site in Hudson, New York was owned by mid-19th century Hudson River School Artist Frederic Edwin Church. We suggest taking a carriage drive along the estate, which reveals Church’s own romantic landscape design. You can also tour the beautiful home and studio. If history isn’t your favorite, you really don’t need to go anywhere else but Warren Street. This street boasts theatre, music, art galleries and antique shops. There’s plenty to right on Main Street. Walk hand in hand with your sweetheart or go see a show at the Hudson Opera House. Located at 327 Warren Street, the Hudson Opera House is New York’s oldest surviving theatre. You can enjoy performances, exhibitions and workshops at the multi-arts center.
From these romantic activities to Mount Merino Manor’s luxurious accommodations, you’ll have a great date when you spend Valentine’s Day in the Hudson Valley. You can spend the weekend of February 14-16, or come anytime during the month. Whenever you visit Hudson, we’ll be sure to make sure you enjoy your stay. Click here to view our rooms and rates!
