December 1

Basilica’s FARM + Flea

Shop, listen to music, attend a workshop or nosh on delicious foods as you support the abundance of small businesses in the Hudson Valley. Basilica’s FARM + FLEA is a quality marketplace with regional makers, farmers and vintage collectors.

December 1 – December 7

Zohar Lazar Exhibition

Artist Zohar Lazar is a renowned illustrator and frequent contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ and more. Lazar will exhibit a series of select drawings in the Center Hall Gallery at Hudson Opera House. The exhibition is free.

December 7

Winter Walk 2013

This is one of the biggest events of the year in Hudson, New York. Hudson’s mile-long commercial district on Warren Street will transform into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights, brightly decorated shops, horse-drawn wagons, stilt walkers, African drummers and live reindeer. The festivities start at 5 p.m. with the ringing of the carillon atop the First Presbyterian Church and the sound of a trumpet fanfare. It culminates with a fireworks display that is launched at 8:15 p.m. from Promenade Hill, but most businesses and restaurants stay open late.

23rd Annual Arts and Crafts Fair

Master crafters and fine artists will display and sell their work at the annual fair. This one is just outside of Hudson in New Paltz, New York. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can browse and buy gallery-quality handcrafted gift items, ceramics, jewelry, leatherwork, woodwork, children’s clothing, wreaths, blown glass, and more! Even better, it’s affordable!

December 8

Colonial Nutcracker at Paramount Hudson Valley

A holiday favorite, The Colonial Nutcracker will help you usher in the Christmas Season in high fashion. It is a full-length production that comes complete with a red-coated mouse army and an enchanted Nutcracker prince. You don’t want to miss it!

December 7, 8, 14 and 15

Wreath Fineries

This Hudson Valley tradition is one of the most popular events of the year. Enjoy holiday socializing, cheer and maybe even some shopping on the trail. Choose a winery first and go there as your starting point. Check in with your event ticket and valid ID before beginning your adventure. You’ll receive a grapevine wreath, an ornament from the starting winery and an ornament from the wine trail. Next, sample the handcrafted wines of the valley with your souvenir wine glass. Your ticket includes wine sampling and a tapas portion tasting of a holiday goodie at each of the 14 wineries. You’ll also receive an additional ornament for each winery you visit along the trail! Happy tasting!
