It’s so much more than exercise. Yoga combines breathing control, simple meditation and specific bodily postures for both health and relaxation.
We have some recommendations for you to try while staying at Mount Merino Manor this fall. Here are some examples of where to find Hudson Valley yoga for the mind, body and spirit.
Make your body, mind and breathing come together in harmony during a yoga event this September. Experience the beauty and serenity that nature can bring on Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11.
Yoga Surrounded by Nature includes two nights’ lodging at Mount Merino Manor Bed and Breakfast, a luxury B&B in a private country setting. You’ll also receive a complimentary yoga mat, yoga block, and an hour-long yoga session each day with Cassandra Currie, a Kripalu certified yoga instructor.
Currie has an extensive background in the practice of yoga, training in New York City under the direction of Dr. Nina Marballi in Ayurvedic Nutrition. She is a certified Holistic Health Counselor and has earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Currie works with groups, couples, and individuals at Vassar College and in her studio in uptown Kingston, New York. Let her enhance and enrich your life this month through the principles of yoga.
It all begins with a luxurious night and a wonderful breakfast at Mount Merino Manor, followed by a gentle vinyasa flow each day at 11 a.m. It will be geared toward all levels of practice.
The prices vary for the two night package. It’s $390 for Deer Run or Rip’s Room. You can stay in Isabel’s Parlor or Diamond Street Suite for $470, or Blue Mountain View or Master Sabine for $590. The offering does not include sales tax or gratuities however, and is not valid on existing reservations. It’s based on double occupancy and is subject to availability.
If you can’t make it out for Yoga Surrounded by Nature, there are many yoga events going on throughout the fall. Bodhi Holistic Spa & Yoga offers Dharma Vinyasa, Kripalu Yoga for all levels, Prenatal Yoga, Jivamukti, ViniYoga and more. View the class schedule here.
Sadhana Yoga Hudson is another option and one that is dedicated to all aspects of yoga. Sadhana means “conscious spiritual practice”. Their teachings reflect a philosophy that involves viewing oneself from the inside out. They bring postures, chanting, meditation, and breath awareness together. At Sadhana, you can pay by the class or by the month.
You can also try Hastings Yoga on Main Street, where yoga is offered for stress and pain relief, better breathing, flexibility, increased strength, weight management, improved circulation, presence and inner peace. To view the schedule of classes offered at Hastings Yoga, click here.
